Notre Dame International, in collaboration with the Center for Italian Studies, is sponsoring two new postdoctoral fellowship at the Rome Global Gateway. The fellowships, one an internship in international education and the other a teaching position in the All Roads Lead to Rome team, are part of the 5+1 postdoctoral fellowship program of the College of Arts and Letters.
The salary for the teaching position will be at least $28,750, plus a supplemental housing stipend of $5,000. The salary for the internship will be at least $41,670, plus housing provided at the Notre Dame Villa in Rome. Both positions will provide round-trip airfare.

International Education at the Rome Global Gateway
The Rome Global Gateway seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work closely with the Executive Director of the Gateway, the Director of Programming, Student Development and Community Engagement, and the Rector of the Villa—the Notre Dame living-learning community on the Celian Hill—and with a diverse team of dedicated individuals on various aspects of the Gateway’s educational mission. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and of the Director of Programming, Student Development, and Community Engagement, the fellow will conduct program assessments and develop student and community engagement. In this role, the fellow will also assist with internship and volunteer placements for students at partner institutions in Rome. The fellow will also work with the Rector of the Notre Dame living-learning Villa to receive training and collaborate with the residential staff team.

"All Roads Lead to Rome" at the Rome Global Gateway
In collaboration with other faculty teaching the foundational study abroad course in Rome and as a part of a teaching team, the postdoctoral fellow, appointed in a Humanities department at Notre Dame, would be the co-instructor of record for the All Roads Lead to Rome course (AL 24107/LLRO 34600/ HIST 34502 – CRN 25806/25822/25823) in Fall and Spring. This course is one of the two courses that are part of the curriculum of all students spending one semester studying abroad in Rome and is a collaborative effort among teaching staff at the Gateway. The course holds Ways of Knowing attributes in History, Fine Arts, and Literature. During the teaching period, the postdoctoral fellow is expected to conduct academic research in their field of specialization. Special consideration will be given to scholars whose research is linked to Rome and would benefit from a year in the city.
