In collaboration with the Department of Humanistic Studies at Università Roma Tre, and with the cosponsorship of the Univeristy of Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters and Center for Italian Studies, Notre Dame Rome is sponsoring a one-year postdoctoral fellowship as part of the research project: Critical success and international diffusion of female Renaissance poetry.

The research funded by this grant will focus on recognizing the international fortune and influence of female poets featured in sixteenth-century anthologies, with the aim of developing a biobibliographical atlas. The designated fellow will be responsible for producing original research materials and disseminating the project results internationally. The 2024 postdoctoral fellow will also organize public presentations on the research topic, developed in collaboration between Roma Tre and Notre Dame Rome.

Università Roma Tre and Notre Dame Rome signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2015 aiming to promote and develop, within the range of roles and competencies of each institution, joint scientific activities and research projects. Select Notre Dame undergraduate students studying abroad in Rome regularly take classes in the Department of Humanistic Studies at Roma Tre, and the two institutions often co-organize conferences and lectures. Notre Dame Rome and Università Roma Tre have also collaborated on the research project PRIN 2017 LiLeSC – Books and Readers in Florence from the Thirteenth to the Fifteenth Century: The Library of Santa Croce, in co-sponsorship with the Center for Italian Studies.
