On March 17, 2020, Notre Dame Professor Vittorio Hösle was interviewed (in Italian) by Fiorinda Li Vigni of the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies (Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici) for its series on the COVID-19 pandemic, "Diario della crisi." Prof. Hösle is one of a handful of eminent European thinkers interviewed so far for the series.
In the interview, Prof. Hösle speaks about how we can learn from the past in the response to the current health emergency, but also about questions of social ethics, politics, and futurity.
Hösle is Paul Kimball Professor of Arts and Letters in the Department of German and Russian Languages and Literatures and Concurrent Professor of Philosophy and of Political Science. He is also a faculty affiliate of the Center for Italian Studies.
