Beginning in spring 2014, a number of academic events took place in Notre Dame's Global Gateway, including:

Conference: "Dante's Intellectual Formation," March 13-14, 2014, sponsored by the Devers Program in Dante Studies, the Office of Research and Italian Studies at Notre Dame.

Symposium: "The Digital Future of World Heritage," April 2-14, 2014, sponsored by the Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Roma, and the Nanovic Institute for European Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Rome Seminar: "American Catholocism in a World Made Small: Transnational Approaches to US History," June 6-20, sponsored by the CUSHWA Center for American Catholicism, the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, the College of Arts and Letters and the Office of Research.

Conference: "Roman Context on Augustan Text and Monument," June 30 - July 3, sponsored by Notre Dame, Stanford, La Sapienza and the American Academy in Rome.
