Dante Now! A Divine Comedy Flashmob

Friday October 10 from 2-5pm

Please join Italian Studies at Notre Dame for an afternoon of recitations of excerpts from Dante's Commedia performed around campus, followed by a lecture by Christian Moevs (Notre Dame) and others in the Annenberg Auditorium, Snite Museum.

2-3pm: Simultaneous public readings from Hell, Purgatory and Paradise (all across campus)

3pm: Choral reading of Saint Bernard in Paradise praying to the Virgin (the Grotto)

3:30pm: “What’s Wrong With This Picture? How to Read Dante’s Hell,” an illustrated public talk by Christian Moevs (Notre Dame) and guests in the Annenberg Auditorium, Snite Museum

4:45pm: Reception (Snite Museum Atrium, Courtyard)

Co-sponsored by the William and Katherine Devers Program in Dante Studies, Italian Studies at Notre Dame, and the Ravarino Family Endowment for Excellence in Italian Studies.
